1-4 July 2027 | Kasteel de Berckt, near Venlo, the Netherlands
We are honoured that the Council for the Revival of Matriarchal Arts has been invited to present our initiative at the 2027 Matriarchy for Future Festival.
The work of CRMA is rooted in bringing women’s ancient and traditional arts back into living practice. We gather to strengthen relationships between women, share knowledge and skills, and explore how values of care, generosity, equality, and responsible Earth stewardship can once again become central to our communal lives.
Matriarchy for Future feels like a natural meeting place for our work.
It is an opportunity to connect with people and initiatives from different countries, to learn from one another, and to experience matriarchal culture through the body, through creativity, through conversation, and through celebration.
From 1-4 July 2027, people from many places will come together at Kasteel de Berckt, near Venlo in the Netherlands, for Matriarchy for Future 2.0 – Celebrate the Balance Festival.
This gathering offers a space to meet, listen, learn, celebrate and explore how matriarchal values can become part of the way we live today.
At the Council for the Revival of Matriarchal Arts, we often speak about remembering. Remembering the knowledge carried through women, families, communities, and generations. Remembering ways of living based on care, reciprocity, shared responsibility, and respect for the living Earth.
The festival brings these questions into a shared and living space.
Matriarchy for Future invites us not only to talk about these values, but to experience them together.
For four days, the festival will bring together music, dance, art, performances, films, ceremonies, workshops, talks, bodywork, community spaces and shared meals. The programme draws on modern matriarchal research, indigenous knowledge, creativity, and the many ways people are already working towards more peaceful and balanced ways of life.
We live at a time when many people feel that something must change.
The festival begins with the understanding that another way is possible, and that knowledge of this way already exists. It can be found in living matriarchal societies, in women’s knowledge, in old and renewed traditions, and in communities choosing cooperation instead of competition.
No one person carries the whole answer.
Through meeting, sharing and listening, we can begin to recognise what each of us brings and what becomes possible when our different experiences are woven together.
The festival welcomes people who are curious about ecological, egalitarian, and peaceful ways of living. You do not need to be an expert in matriarchal studies. You are invited to arrive as you are: to listen, participate, ask questions, share your experience and become part of the gathering.
We warmly invite our friends, members and wider community to join us at Matriarchy for Future 2.0.
Come to meet others who are asking similar questions.
Come to listen to women’s knowledge and the experiences of matriarchal communities.
Come to dance, create, celebrate, rest, learn and imagine.
Most of all, come to take part in building relationships that can help carry a different future into being.
